“When you send forth your spirit, they are created; and you renew the face of the earth.” Psalm 104:30 Dear St. Anthony’s Parish & Trinity School Families, When St. Anthony’s was founded in 1909 it was the Parish of St. Anthony and the Holy Ghost. The image painted above our high altar is a beautiful representation of Pentecost. We have been enjoying this image for years. The long standing ties of this Parish to the Holy Spirit makes this year’s feast of Pentecost a beautiful moment to celebrate a community renewal of St. Anthony’s Parish & Trinity School. We will be celebrating a renewal of faith and community this Pentecost with an outdoor Mass (weather willing) and a light luncheon. We are inviting everyone in our Parish & School Community to join with us in celebrating. Come to the 11am Mass, stay for lunch and a celebration of renewal. Our celebration includes a light lunch of hot dogs, chips, drinks & cookies. I will be taking this opportunity to introduce myself and finally greet all the members of this community. As a sign of our renewal we are asking every family in the Parish and the School to bring a candle to be lit from the paschal candle and arranged together as a visual mark of our renewal. Candles will be provided by the Parish. You will be able to pick up your families Renewal Candle after the Parish weekend Masses on May 15th & 16th and after the week day Masses. School families your candles will be available in the school office. If you are not able to pick up your candle before the event we will have it waiting for you on May 23rd at the celebration. If you need your candle delivered to you because you are not able to pick it up or attend the celebration please call the Parish Office and we will have someone deliver it to you. It is time to come together and give thanks for what God has given us in this year of trial and hardship. As we work to renew our community we focus our efforts ever in Christ. We will need our entire parish and school community to make this celebration a true renewal for all of us. Go to our website, www.stanthonyspokane.org to join our Flocknote and Facebook to stay in touch with us as we prepare for our May 23rd Pentecost Sunday Renewal celebration! Lord, send out your spirit, and renew the face of the earth! In Christ, Rev. Brian R. Sattler
